This training is designed to challenge you to seek greater knowledge on yoga history and humanities, anatomy and biomechanics, yoga asanas underpinning the vinyasa practice, as well as teaching methods honed and refined by Angie after nearly a decade of teaching multiple immersions, teacher trainings, courses, and workshops.

This training is open to all levels of practitioners in any stage of your yoga journey who are keen and committed to deepen your knowledge of the practice. Angie would like to invite you to attend any of her group classes to experience her teaching style prior to joining the training.

art of yoga: A functional approach to the vinyasa practice

13, 14, 20, 21 april 2024

9.30am - 1.15pm

for: STUDENTS, teachers

pricing: SGD125 (single session), SGD450 (full training)

In this training, we look closely into some of the common injuries that occur in the yoga practice, namely the lower back, the sacroiliac (SI) joint, shoulders, and wrists. We will understand why these common injuries typically happen in the yoga practice and how we can prevent or actively manage these injuries in our classes.

By having a deeper understanding of the functional anatomy of these specific areas of the body, we explore how we can manage these injuries in the yoga setting to ensure a safe and inclusive practice for all through our sequencing, verbal cues, and physical adjustments.

You can opt to attend a single session, the full 4-day training, or any combination of the programme that best suits your needs.

This is also a Yoga Alliance-certified Continuing Education Training (CET) Programme. For yoga teachers, please note that attendance for all 4 sessions is required to clock your CET training hours.

This workshop seeks to empower students to move safely and confidently in their Vinyasa practice, through a deeper inquiry into the biomechanics and anatomical understanding of the discipline. We go through various strength and conditioning work relevant to the Vinyasa discipline, and experience how minor tweaks and modifications to our existing practice can make a key difference in lengthening and strengthening our muscles. Be empowered to safeguard your own practice in a group setting with easily understandable and digestible anatomical concepts relevant to the Vinyasa practice and daily living.
